  • I do think the UK is well into the process of losing some of its key vocab differences from American English, approx in this order:

    • lorry -> truck ages ago
    • sweets -> candy
    • aeroplane -> airplane has just about completed I think
    • shop -> store nearly there
    • toilet -> bathroom seems to be well on the way
    • vacation starting to creep in

    Sidewalk next?

  • don’t mind most of those, but tow us into the Atlantic and pull out the plug when ‘then’ replaces ‘than’.
