I’ve run into an issue with my broom cupboard shelves. I went round with my cable detector and pretty much the whole area ends up flashing (which is meant to show live wires). It seems strange as some areas you can imagine it, but in others it seems contrary to the placement of the lights and sockets in the room, and room behind. Also normally when I've used it near light switches, plugs it follows a more progressive pattern - amber-red-red flashing.
I’ve read that putting your hand on the wall helps to earth it to reduce over-sensitivity. What are peoples thoughts? My OH is now really worried.
It’s this Bosch Detector Truvo. Reviews seem to complain about over sensitivity.
