  • Make sure the drill bit is new and sharp and as central as you can drill. I've used extractors and they will work off centre but it's not ideal. The act of, and heat from, the drilling might free it up too so if you could get hold of reverse drill bits that might work without resorting to the extractor.

  • @mdcc_tester & @Constable_Savage thank you both for the replies.

Do you have any idea where in London I can pick up a LHT drill bit? A google search returns nothing and I'm meant to be riding this bike to France on Friday.

  • Is the boss in the fork leg or on the outside?

  • On the outside.

Ordered an LHT set from Amazon.

  • Sorry, I'm not local people. You could probably Amazon it and get pronto enough.

  • Automatic centre punch
    https://www.screwfix.com/p/centre-punch-13-x-130mm/4338v
    from Screwfix.
Punch an indentation, axially, close to the circumference of what remains of the bolt.
Punch it several times to make the indentation deep.
Once you've done that, place the punch tangentially in the in the indentation and punch tangentially so as to rotate the bolt out.
I've successfully removed a sheared bolt in a clamp at the top of a seat post using this method.

  • Ah fair enough. I could just cut off the boss and add another. So don’t bin the fork or anything.

  • Best way to remove a few drops of superglue off a phone screen? Acetone didn't seem to touch the rest that was spilt on the kitchen side and I'm wary about going at it with a razor blade.

  • Razor blade at shallow angle should be fine.

  • What's a reasonable price for one of these
    Panasonic tx32lxd500?

I don't want the cash, I want to donate whatever I get for it to Herne hill youth cc

  • If it's this spec then only somewhere in the region of £20-£35 I'd suspect.

Ebay has one sold for £34 and one that was relisted several times that didn't sell even at £12

  • Okes thanks for the tip.
    I'll get it on gumtree/nextdoor

  • That's done the trick with no marks to the screen, ta

  • What's this bit for on a veloce shifter? Little rubber thingy that goes through the lever.

  • It's to prevent rattling between the gear and brake levers

  • I'm looking for a calculator to help me find two gearings that have the same distance between cogs and chainrings using the same chain. The idea was a transport gear and a trail gear for my SSCX.

You can use something like this if you measure your chainstay length and find some different magic ratios.

  • I'm looking to buy an induction hob and get someone to install it for me and take my shitty old hob away. The easy option looks like buying a £180 Logik with decent reviews from Currys and getting them to install it and take the old one away for an extra £105.
Is there a better/cheaper way to get a similar product installed? Ideally ASAP because my current hob is fucked.

EDIT: answered my own question. Found a local guy with good reviews who'll do it for £45.

  • where can I get the little 'noodle' on the left in plastic bag as shown in this pic?

  • If you google ‘flexible v brake noodle’, is that what you’re after?

  • flexible v brake noodle

I have some in my parts bin .. its the short length I am after

  • Snip it to the length of choice?

  • So these "never used" wheels have been used yeah?

  • Maybe the freehub was used on another set of wheels and swapped over, but I doubt it.
