  • The workcycles fr8 and gr8 look good for family life. I did nearly get one, there was a well priced one on ebay. But it was a rational decision, not an emotional one, and in the end I decided against it

    But it's a lovely bit of utilitarian dutch design, just not sure how well it'll manage hills

  • I have 8-speed Nexus and can spin my way up Telegraph Hill / Pepys Road etc with a kid on the back. Saying that I'm a hill lover, my missus would walk it.

    Generally, 90% of our London family riding is on the flat / less than 5 miles so it does mostly what we want it to, most of the time.

    Elec assist would be nice, but pushed the cost up a ton.

  • I love my Workcycles Kr8 - now that my kids are getting a bit big and heavy for it I'm hoping to replace it with a Fr8 for supermarket runs (but I suspect an Elephant Bike would make better financial sense).
