I bought a cross-check and cautioned that in my experience surly represent poor value for money. Having since ridden similarly priced and purposed bikes, I think Surly suffer in comparison unless you are planning long fully loaded tours. Had someone warned me I wouldn't have wasted hundreds of pounds, a Genesis Croix de Fer handles luggage and is a much more lively ride unloaded. Having regretted buying a Surly, is it not legitimate to share that experience before others part with their cash.

I don't consider myself a surly fanboy.. I just work in product development and am sick of people moaning about the price of products they are not buying.
And my grävel beik weighs 16 kg, has 26" wheels and cable disc brakes.
