There are five riders on the parcours leading to CP2 and all of these could reach CP2 before the leaders hit CP3. Which leaves only five riders on the road behind them.
It strikes me that this year’s field is stronger than previous years and that there are fewer “stragglers”. That said, there is still a long way to go.
