yeah - it’s an ergon CF3. they say you shouldn’t ride it on gravel but whatever. shifters are just stock - wasn’t aware you could even get small hand versions...

Has anyone put a steel fork on the Arkose, ideally thru-axle? Would like to be able to use Surly's 8 or 24 pack front rack or similar but think this can't be done on the stock carbon fork from the 2018. Anyone have any recommedations?

Apologies if this has been asked a few times, but is there a go-to functional carbon fork (1 1/8")? More specifically for discs with low rider mounts and can take rack/guards.
Disregarding material choice, thought the Akrose fork would do the job but doesn't have eyelets on the fork ends.

£350 😬

Just £50 per braze on!

Wait till you see Rodeo Spork.

Come to think of it does a 1 1/8 carbon disk fork with bosses for lowrider rack and double eyelets on the fork ends even exist?

Wait till you see Rodeo Spork.
Fuck my mouth! Especially with the current exchange rate.

That genesis fork is no good for low riders, the side mounts are really only for lightweight carry everything cages, the inner and lowers for mudguards.

That's more than the Arkose you're selling. Wowser!
Any steel fork options, thru axle with the brazeons for silly stuff to fit an Arkose?

The bivibikes femur fork, I posted a link about a couple of pages ago comes close i.e the rake is the same but longer A/C and no tapered steerer or theres the Landyachtz adventure fork which has a tapered steerer. Both steel with 12mm thru axle options and 3 bosses on the fork legs. https://landyachtzbikes.com/bike/adventure-fork/

Really useful, thanks for the link. Don't apologise for the BLB link, funny enough of all those forks the Fyxnation Sparta looks the most suitable to me.
Now to do more reading on whether fitting lowrider rack to carbon fork for touring is a good idea.

I just ordered a Sparta QR, idea is to fit guards, dynamo light and Topeak Versacages. I'll be sure to upload some pictures when done, I just need to order a 1 1/4 to 1 1/8 adapter so I can fit it on my Giant TCX.
I think all the mounts are angled towards the front, so would require some fiddling to fit a rack. -
• #8568
Yes do let us know how you get on, will be very interested and thanks for the heads up on the potentially angled mounts.

That Landyachtz looks good but too pricey me thinks. The femur looks the job. Just need to figure out what adapter to get to fit on the 1.5" tapered headset of the Arkose which I'm already modding before I've even bought it

Theres this
https://www.cnc-bike.de/product_info.php?products_id=17913Then you just need a shim for the lower headset

• #8571
Is that basically the same form as the Femur, looks no different
-
• #8572
I bought one a couple of months ago.
Waiting the framebuilder to complete the new bike. -

More eyelets, straight steerer and 1/3 of the price. But pretty similar, yeah.
Edit: I was comparing to the landyacht one, but everything except the steerer is still true
