  • Wow that looks lovely. Never seen one looking that nice

  • Thanks.. what have you got??

  • Thanks.. yeah ticks a lot of boxes..

  • same as yours, but I transferred all the parts to another frameset after the seat post got stuck. I've removed the post now and have the frame on the wall while I decide what to do with it.

  • I added a few pics a couple of pages back, I had it on 32mm gravelking SK's with guards.. so very versatile bike but still quite racey geometry..

  • yeah, it looks great.
this is mine when it was last built up. i had 33mm g-one bite on for a 3 day bikepacking trip in galloway forest park.
i bought a pinnacle dolomite to use as a 'fast' bike, and bought a kepler framesest to transfer the parts from the genesis over to as after the galloway trip i decided i'd like more tyre clearance (plus the seat post was stuck and was about 20mm too low)
the pinnacle hasn't really had a great deal of use - actually, i haven't ridden it at all this year - so i'm thinking about transfering the bits from that onto the equilibrium...

  • Recently picked up an 853 fugio, hadn’t really thought about front mech compatability (11 speed top pull doesn’t exist) also didn’t want gear cables on top tube under frame bag straps, so took the frame to Bob Jackson who have done an awesome job of removing unwanted bosses, added head tube stops and rear mech stop, and had them add mudguard eyelets as well, just in case. Friendly guys who know what they’re doing, and a fast turnaround as long as you don’t want paint.

  • I like those a lot, I just wish It wasn't such a race bike with the tiny HT

  • Here my high latitude in expedition mode:

  • First time Genesis purchase for my partner, impressed so far.

  • Oo, that looks gooood! You going to paint yourself then?

  • Nice. I had some mudguard mounts added to mine, but kept the existing cable as I am going 1x. Have you decided what colour you're going for yet?

  • 16cm is short I guess but should be fine, only 15mm shorter than a large CDF and I don’t mind a Few spacers.

@GideonPARANOID absolutely not, having experimented with painting in the past it’s a fucking ball ache for guaranteed shit results. It’s off to the powdercoaters to get a dark metallic grey @oheyitsdrew

  • Agreed this looks great, really looking forward to the result. What's the tyre clearance on the frame? Feel free to start a project thread ;)

  • Cheers. Your 853 equilibrium sale thread catalysed the thought process that has lead us here. I expect it to clear 700x42 slicks, haven’t tested this yet but put a half inflated 38 in and there looked plenty room. Personally I reckon 700 x 38-42 is perfect for general road riding/touring/gravé.

  • Personally I reckon 700 x 38-42 is perfect for general road riding/touring/gravé.

Haven't personally done the N=1 plunge but feel like I'm almost there. A while ago I stopped wanting really wide tyres and agree, never really felt I need wider than 38 width tyres. Looks like Bob Jackson did a great job as you'd expect.

  • I’m not going n=1 extremist but the garage needs rationalising. The build from my CDF will be going onto this, then the build from my day onex10 will go into the cdf for commuting and day to day duties. I expect it’ll be hard to justify keeping my Donohue road bike once the fugio is up and running.... (hoping it rides as well as I expect it will)

  • Oh hey there 2020 Volare.

  • Smart but a straighte headtub would look so much better

  • I kinda like the tapered external headset top and bottom look but I do also like a 44mm HT.

  • It's a fair bit lighter than a straight 44mm headtube plus you generally don't really need the increased diameter at the top of a 44mm (in steel anyway) - fork steerer doesn't need the internal space and the toptube doesn't need the weld surface area

  • ... does look a bit naff though

  • Horses /// courses

  • Liking the polished finish on that better than the previous brushed finish, subtle graphics on the fork are really nice
