Count me in

Yes - good point. Option 3 is a day ride Saturday. Chime in if you fancy that.

Apologies. Didn't mean it as a dig. Just thought you may have missed it. I appreciate it can be stressful. Appreciate what you do (even though I've not been on one of your rides - yet!).

I'd be up for Saturday ride.
-
• #181
I'll come along for a ride on Saturday
-
• #182
Although it might not seem it, organising these rides can be quite a lot of work and stressful too.
Thanks for doing it B, grace under pressure etc

I’m happy for whatever. Camping in the soggy and waking up wet ain’t fun so if it’s a day ride, so be it. Don’t worry about Harrison, he can stay at mine Saturday, he’s staying tonight anyway

It's just over 60 miles if I remember correctly. We could do the whole thing in a day if we keep faffing to minimum.

Decision made: Day Ride Saturday only.
Meet at same time and place as planned already. Pace will be good, not too fast but not stopping that much.
There are many many bailout points if you get too wet or tired. Bring food, rain gear, and not too much else. I plan to ride as darn far as I can, even after dark perhaps.

Cool, see you then

Is the route the same as it was going to be for the Saturday or different now?
-
• #188
Exactly the same route as before. I’ve pasted it below as a reminder for people to download it.
I will just ride as far as I feel like. Maybe it’s possible to do the whole thing. Maybe people will want to go home earlier on the train and a few of us carry on. We’ll see. All options open and easy.

I doubt I'll do the whole thing singlespeed, but we will see. Lots of places to take a shortcut from. Lots of pubs to hide out in if it pisses down. Lots of good riding.
Am off to Decathlon to by a rainjacket and Waitrose (of course) for a load of snacks.

Sounds like a fine day out. Have fun peeps
-
• #191
I think I'll camp regardless.
-
• #192
Or carry a tent in case the rain holds out
-
• #193
The windy forecast is looking good again, 0.3 mm of rain at 12 (late enough for a pub Stop I reckon) and Sunday looks good too.
I reckon me and Phil will bring camping gear.
-
• #194
Bring it. We can camp if it's not too bad- or bail home.
-
• #195
Tent is packed

• #196
In the end I've damaged my ear, so cant make it.
Looks like a nice day for it though.
-
• #197
Damn that’s a shame, in this case me and Phil have dumped the camping gear, it’s still looking better over that way than it is here anyway so hopefully it dries up quicksharp.
See you all at the train station(s)!

I'm out. It's too grim for me.

Arriving to Reading at 09:41, should make it to Tilehurst for 10.

Am here :)
ugh non-stop rain for two days...
I'd be up for getting out there anyway for a day ride. Attempt as much of the route as possible, depending on how people feel. Cut short if it stops being fun.
