Yeah, they're cables and they do a job, but you can also buy stainless ones that won't go shit, and stainless ones that are made smooth that won't go shit and feel nicer, but they cost more. You can also spend even more money on shimano coated ones that will fill everything with fucking fluffy coating shit and ruin everything, so there's probably a good middle ground.
