I thought we agreed anyone wearing arse padding is "bringing the beers". Inspection will be made at Guildford.

PUBDESK:
If time, wouldn’t mind stopping for a pint at the Three Horseshoes in Cranleigh.
They have HSB on - my go-to for years. Gales got bought by Fullers who just got bought by Asahi. I hear that HSB’s days are numbered : /*other pubs/beverages available

Has anyone booked a specific train home? What's the limit on number of bikes per train?
-
• #158
Depends where you’re travelling from. The short-formed south coast trundlers that go into Brighton from Shoreham have space for maybe three bikes in the official spot but actually, depending on the time of day, you can probably just get on. I don’t think you can book bikes on any trains in the south east. Mainline Southern, Gatwick Express and Thameslink trains out of Brighton have plenty of bike spaces. Just be aware of possible travel restrictions for non-folding bikes - midweek rush hour!

I just got on the train last time, there's enough of us to use GroupSave and pay a lot less anyway.
Rush hour restriction into London are in the morning, not the evening. The train was pretty spacious and it'll be quite empty in that direction.

Yes, I’d say that’s generally true and I am sure it will be fine! The new Thameslink trains have bags of space, even in the non-cycling bits.
The squeeze (for me) has always been the coastway east and west trains : /FTR: The Southern mainline policy has been to have restrictions on non-folders: Victoria, Brighton, Kensington Olympia at both ends of the day. Dunno if that’s still the case - I haven’t been doing that commute for a few years now!

Trains should be fine
If its the new class 700's, we will have loads of space.
I will also have some 'industry backup' with me if its required

For those of us meeting at Mitchum Eastfields, can I suggest we meet on the pavement to the left of the level crossing?
-
• #171
Cool - just to confirm, I’ll be sharing a sleeping bag with 2 lovely men the night before so please don’t wait for me at the 2nd meet point :)
Gut feeling says gears... ahh can’t decide.

Anyone have any idea what the surface us going to be? Fixed bike is prob too tukt but has RTC sticker so I'm torn
-
• #173
Yup. 0830-ISH?
-
• #174
I’m umming and ahhhing about this dilemma too. My major issue is my carradice is quite heavy with a nights camping kit. Stickers are not an issue as all my bikes have mudguards because IM NOT A MONSTER. ;)
Gonna go with whatever my fuzzy Tuesday morning head decides tomorrow...
-
• #175
Well I am a monster as I’ve decided my bike is too tukd as YAL says.
Mudguards off, party on. I’ll be at the back, dw.
I think means 'bib casual' as I am certainly wearing some cycle specific stuff if it's hot as balls over a 70miles PARCOURS
