I’m in the process of converting my wife’s Raleigh 20 (hopefully) into my fixed wheel commuter. I’ve got a 450mm seatpost to start dialling the fit before I commit to too much spending. It’s just long enough and there are new tyres en route.
A nitto NTC 280 stem should just about give the stack I need but I could do with more reach than the 100mm. As it doesn't actually need a quill wedge, would a section of plain gauge stainless tube be strong enough to not overly endanger my teeth?
