Stolen bikes

Depressing.

Where are these cheap bikes again? I'm too much of a wuss to steal one.

All stereotypes of this manner have plagued me as a teenager/young adult.

But generalisations are just a part of communication sometimes, I get that.

Incidentally the last time this happened was after a Rapha sample sale. Someone came up to me and was like "oh, I thought you were a rudeboi"
I don't let it get to me, but it happens often.

I think you're right, people don't give a shit. with police funding cuts, and subsequent lack of resources it seems like there's hardly a danger of getting caught for it either.

Arrange sale for cash, test ride, disappear into distance?

There is no guarantee of success with such a method, do you have large friends?

Or let the police know, they may be able to assist or they may not have a spare second/person able to help...

FIXED GEAR BIKE ROBBED

Handmade track frame, iPhone 7+ and JBL Flip 4 speaker robbed by 4 rudeboys

I chased them in the hope he'd stack it but I lost him. Used Find My iPhone and saw he was in an estate in Tottenham, went looking but no joy.

The bike had Hexlox security on the wheels, saddle, stem and post so they’ll have a hard job taking it apart so there’s a good chance someone will be riding it around (East London?) as a complete rig.

Any sightings or news would be MASSIVELY appreciated, love that bike so much.

A neighbour from the lower part of Geldeston Road has reported an alarming incident that happened to him today.

A few nights ago a very expensive bicycle was stolen late in the evening from the back of his house, normally considered secure as there is no access to it from the road. On this occasion, it appeared that the thief/thieves got into his garden by climbing over the entrance to Saxony Court - a ten foot wall with a locked gate and an entry phone - and then scaling the garden walls of his neighbours.

This evening, around 5.30 - 6.00, he was outside in the street when he spotted two young teenagers (possibly no older than 14) attempting to climb over the Saxony Court wall. He challenged them, asking them what they were doing, and they both pulled big knives on him and attempted to stab him. His cousin and her two young children were present and were witnesses. He managed to avoid them stabbing him, photographed them with his phone and called the police at which point the boys cycled off shouting that they would be back to break all their windows.

The police came and took statements from our neighbour and family and said that the boys were known to them (the police). Apparently they subsequently arrested one of the two but said that they had found no knife and might, therefore, not have sufficient evidence to charge him.

Thought I should make other residents aware of this alarming development. Today’s incident happened in broad daylight and in the presence of very young children. Although young themselves, these boys are clearly very dangerous, obviously not too concerned about the prospect of being caught, and with no regard for the safety of vulnerable children who happened to be in the vicinity.

I would advise people in the area to be on the alert and to be mindfulful about security.

It's always worth a reminder that most bikes get stolen from sheds and back gardens and the like. Thieves armed with knives is obviously very bad news.

Hello guys is anyone seen this bike is been stolen from lasteeek saturday, basically i came out from work and way back to go home ive seen my padlock was been cut, please lock it up for me and let me know if anyone seen this lovely fast bike, its a steel fuji bike single speed, thank you @stolen in soho

My partner's dad has had his Focus Raven Elite stolen in Wye, Kent. It appears pretty well planned as they came with the right tools to open the shed it was stored in and didn't take the other bike that was in there. He's so unbelievably upset and having a really shitty year as it is so, if something does pop up...

I've asked for some identifiers and have been given this: "On handle bar is an expensive GoPro mount. Right rear wheel frame (upper) has been scratched and a repair to paint work carried out. Handle bar head stock has non standard top washer and mount for iPhone. Mount made by SP gadgets." And he's switched out the tyres to Maxxis something or others, I'm not too sure.

Hi! Please keep an eye my bike got stolen from the door of Premier Royal Alfred shop, 101 Manor Road, Erith, Da8 AQ. Today at 9:50am.
Young white male, blond hair, he ran with it. I am unable to run so couldn’t chase. It is a Cannondale super six Ultegra disc, Yellow Floro, with Favero duo pedals. The most stand out part is the saddle, it is a Fizik's Antares covered with the word 'TEST' in multiple colours. thanks. Javier.

A friend of mine’s bike was stolen on Lordship Lane today

This is an old pic but the parts are all the same (seatpost at my height here as I rode it to him after putting it together)

Sigma road frame in very distinctive colour, dull gold mavic rims and set up 1x9 with Shimano derailleur and trigger shifter. Please keep your eyes peeled and pm me if spotted :)
