It's a shame they're losing their good name with shenanigans like that, even worse if, as Chalfie says, they've done that to other breweries, too.
I remember Joe talking about opening the Nelson's Head, and he's also done at least one other pub, near Dartmouth Park, which won great plaudits when it opened, but I haven't been there and I don't know if they're still running it. Was it the Lord Palmerston?

The Ruislip hordes are obviously excused.
It's a great pity as I have an important update for those thirsting for more of the continuing tussle between the EA and the goodly residents of Ruislip. (It will keep for a week).

Only because I can walk there. Unfortunately, finishing work at 9pm this Wednesday

That looks interesting and certainly a good touring candidate.
I take it is already open? (It says the 'official opening is on the 29th.)
I can't make this Wednesday, and the two after that, unfortunately, so it falls to others to sort something out.

I'm assuming this is a non-event, this week.
-
• #14858
I'm going to the pub.
-
• #14859
Is 'this' happening, tomorrow?
-
• #14860
Sorry, I wasn't around.
I'm up for this Wednesday, anyone else? Food suggestions, please. Failing that, I'll pick something.

Bumpety bump.

Bumpleweed ...

• #14863
Anyone else?
-
• #14864
Sorry, I'd already given up on the idea. :)
How about this week?
We could do the Elderfield and maybe go for food at Biff's Jack Shack in Brooksby's Walk beforehand? Apparently, it's now inside the Spar under the Castle Cinema.

Does sound good, but unfortunately this coming Wednesday evening is already committed to remaining in the Glory of Ruislip. Following week could/should see me venturing eastwards.
-
• #14866
Shame about the clash. I can't do the following week, unfortunately. :(
-
• #14867
I'm keen for this Wednesday!
7-10pm for beers/food/whatever. -
• #14868
Really sorry to miss you--I'll be elsewhere this Wednesday, unfortunately.
-
• #14869
Also away this week unfortunately. Wednesdays have been quite booked up for me the last few weeks but should hopefully be available next week if anyone is around
-
• #14870
Also away this week, but would like to double my attendance record next week if I can manage not being evicted from London by work.
-
• #14871
I'm also a no-show this week,
and,
the 7th of August. -
• #14872
Looks like 2 or 3 of us at least might be able to make Wed 7th?
-
• #14873
People up for tomorrow then?
-
• #14874
I might turn up at around 7:30 for a pint. Maybe.

In for tomorrow.
The question is where; Ndeipi may not be aware that we're not currently going to the Chesham (reasons upthread). @hs suggested the Northcote Arms in Leyton.
It does food:
https://thenorthcotee11.com/food-drink-2/
We've been in and around Hackney for yonks, so maybe a change of scenery would do us good. At the same time, I'm mindful that the closer to Central London, the more accessible the venue is, and Leyton is further out--but quality of pub obviously matters.
Obviously, other suggestions gratefully received.
If you were expecting to go to the Chesham, Ndeipi, and couldn't go elsewhere, we should perhaps go somewhere close by--plenty of choice.
I don't detect much enthusiasm for Easts tonight, so could I invite furious protests in this way? The Ruislip hordes are obviously excused.
The slight difficulty with this is that we're currently homeless. Again, as above, please feel free to suggest a pub/lots of new pubs.
Failing that, should we go to the Pembury again in case it happens tonight? I'm very happy to come, so do post if you are. Any suggestions for food beforehand?
I'm obviously aware the weather's rather shit, so that may put a spanner in the works, especially for people who have a bit of distance to travel to get to whichever pub is the lucky one tonight.
