You around today? Maybe you'd swap one for a Pro One and £10 (rough price diff)
What rims did you try on? -

Shoes update.
I've been trying to decide between 4 or 5 pairs of shoes. I think I'm now going to go with Innov-8 trail running shoes, with Specialized insoles, as they were pretty good this morning.
The other options still in the frame are:
- Five Ten Canvas. These are ok but I could do with a bigger size and they don't make them any more. Also they absorb massive amounts of water if it rains and are probably a bit hot for 30 degrees +
- Northwave Clan. These are the Northwave version of Five Tens and have a stiffer sole which is better. But the toe box is a bit tight.

Kinlin XR31.
Yes, am around now.
Happy to swap - don't worry about price difference! -

20kg on that :P
By the time I've finished with the bars in Burgas it'll be more :)

I've been trying to destroy a pair of those for a couple of weeks, on varying grades of gravel, but haven't managed to do any harm. Still pretty light and feel fast.

Damn, that's what I have on the back too :S
I'm just having lunch but I'll message you in ~30min and head over if you're still at home?
-
• #1658
Sure
-
• #1659
I can see why you struggled. They must be designed to be crazy tight!
Probably no good for tubes. -
• #1660
Yeah, I suspected as much.
you can return it if you want! -
• #1661
Got it on but fuck me they can't expect normal people to do that, certainly not outside a workshop.
31.5mm fitted to XR31 which is annoying coz I thought they'd be wider.
Think I'll stick with Pro 4 and use this as experiment in TL over winter.

Did you have air in it for any length of time?
-
• #1663
Maybe. I did with one of them - left it mounted on the rim inflated for a week or two. But I don't know which one I gave you. I'd hoped it would stretch it a bit ;)
Actually I probably had the other one inflated for a couple of days at least. So, yes. -
• #1664
Yes, they're not mega wide. Basically the same size as GP4000 28s
-
• #1665
Hmm. I hope that bridge on parcours 3 is open.
Pig of a detour if not! -
• #1666
and this is a Vittoria Voyager Hyper 35mm. Plenty of clearance at the seatstay but the chainstay is the issue...

Their text makes it sound like we'll have to go around and then go back to the other side to complete it too.
-
• #1668
Yes, that's what I mean. Descend all the way down to the main road and then go back up a goat track to get to the other side.
-
• #1669
I haven't tried a proper re-route around it yet. I just saw SS12 next to it and no other joining roads. I'm gonna jump the bridge gap...

The reflector business is giving me grief.
At the point it’ll go on the seatpost, where I would have an additional light... -
• #1671
Can you not mount it on the seat stay? I used inner tube and electrical tape to pad out the mount which is designed for a seat post.
-
• #1672
Do we have a list of forum riders for this?
-
• #1673
My seat stays are very narrow.
Hoping for a zip tie solution -
• #1674
I've just done a route for it and it's 40k / 1000m extra. I hope they finish on time.

I screw mine onto seatstay guard mounts.
I've gradually been losing weight, without trying to, and without stopping eating stuff.
Was down to exactly 11st this morning, which is 70kg. Still carrying plenty of fat, though!
