It's France - they just do it for the love of protesting
-
• #22753
Big day out for nibbles? He never misses a trick.
-
• #22754
Nibbly will climb well, but Sago’s made of mercury, can’t imagine him keeping up when the road goes vertical.
-
• #22755
Sounded a bit like one of the commentators Sympathized, wondered what the cause was
-
• #22756
Farmers are complaining about bears being reintroduced for ecological purposes. Supposedly some dead sheep who fell victim to the bears on display along the route.
-
• #22757
Oh wow. Funny Flecha was talking about riders being scared of bears when the race first visited.
-
• #22758
Convenient El Presidente appears way after the protest.
-
• #22759
Where is Alaphillipe? Nowhere near the front
-
• #22760
Yes there seems to be conflicting reports, but with Quickstep and Jumbo certainly using it, as well as several other WT teams then clearly there is some advantage to be had to it. Recovery and weight loss certainly, but not rocket fuel.
-
• #22761
Ok looks like he is being brought up now.
-
• #22762

Yeah, helping to sell tonnes of the shit to Cat 4s the world over. :)
-
• #22763
Haha true. I think the theory is the body uses the ketones for fuel early doors so saving glucose for the pointy end of a race.
Anyway take my money!

• #22764
Brian Smith sounded like he was quite pissed off with Carlton a few minutes ago (talking about orange jerseys)!
-
• #22765
Bantz
-
• #22766
He is not alone.... It must be a huge test of his character and professional etiquette not to say something along the lines of 'shut up you know-nothing stupid motormouth cunt'.
-
• #22767
Bardet... ouch. déconfiture totale
-
• #22768
Yeah looks like he's going to ship a lot of time today...
-
• #22769
A great French tradition,
the first time, each Summer,
one hears 'Bardet has slipped out the back of the peleton ....'
[ITV4 Director shelves his tape of 'On a Ragga Tip
' for another stage]. -
• #22770
Ha, did an actual lol at that, imagining it said in Smith's accent...
Carlton filled the dead air afterwards while Brian presumably composed himself :)
-
• #22771
Yates now...
-
• #22772
Feel bad for Bardet. Both Yates's seemingly.
-
• #22773
Bardet sweating like a bastard and being overhauled by the sprinterz. Will be a DNF at this rate
-
• #22774
Typical GT with Nibali playing with my emotions

These Wiggins alerts are awful. Whoever taught him presenter-stagecraft did a terrible job. Them hand gestures, “back to the commentary team”, etc. Groan.
It has happened in the past though? Didn’t the Spanish teams (and motos) work together to deny Robert Millar the Vuelta?
