fucking virgin trains and their pisstake prices

I had to do an event in Manchester at the last minute early this year. Work wanted to book me an open first class return because it wasn't going to be easy to pin down exactly when I needed to be there.
Can't remember how much it was but I know that we sent a junior colleague to New York and back for considerably less than Virgin wanted for my ticket to Manchester.
When my company made a comment on social media, Virgin tried to argue that it was fairly priced because it was a first class ticket. There is literally no justification for a four hour first class train journey to cost more than twelve hours on a plane in economy.

'let me just ping that to you now'

The cheap screws whose heads get minced.
Seriously, do you have to just buy new fucking screws for every job!?
Fixing a coat hook to a wall and one of the screws' head minced before it had got the whole way in. I even used a new drill bit. Stupidly assumed because it was a beefy hook the screws would be made of steel rather than silver cheese.
Luckily it's in a shed and only taking the weight of overalls, but it's still fucking shit as well as looking shit.

Can anyone tell me why sliding door train toilets are designed to require a second press of the close button in order to lock them? Why not lock upon closure after the first press? I was again treated to a chap putting himself away recently. I don't blame user error but poor design, although he could have looked at least a little sheepish.

Isn’t this a major talking point in the XR thread? Rail travel should be heavily subsidised, and affordable. You could fly anywhere in the world for what GW want on the line between Wales and London.
-

I guess it's to stop someone pressing the close button, jumping out and the toilet being locked with no one in there.

It makes you realise just how un-progressive the UK is when you look at our attitude to public transport.

True, but unfortunately far from the only country to be like that, when you look at trains vs flying. In fact, I struggle to think of a major one that does it differently? E.g. in Germany, the exact same discussion is had every so often, for example currently on the German subreddit, with exactly the same arguments and everything. So it doesn't seem to be any better there...

Also prevents unruly toddlers from getting accidentally locked in / locking their parents out.
More recent designs have a physical lock on the door - to mimic normal doors that aren't stupid.

Name Manager?
-
• #12016
Formulas->Name manager is your friend (or the trace precedents button)
-
• #12017
And if you click on the name in the formula it'll show you what it refers to.... have you considered Excel training?
-
• #12018
Those are all good answers, but they are just extra layers to try to make name ranges less rubbish.
I'll stick to good old $b$4:e7 thankyou

Thanks, that's informative. If nothing else I've learnt about Greenspun's Tenth Rule

Right but try that with the range in another worksheet
If it's my workbook named ranges all the way

On Android? Drag the notification down and press on it. You'll be given the option to block notifications from that app.

My Spermes order arrived yesterday. Madness.

Monday at midday I get an email saying delivery will be between 13:00-1500. The guy jogs from his van the the door at 13:30.
Amazing.
