A while ago one of the magazines reckoned the southeast had the best biking roads in the UK. I've been lucky enough to ride all over it most of my life. If you get to Box Hill lower car park that is a great launch point. There's a reason it's one of the biggest biker stops in the area. I usually head towards Epsom to get to Dorking area.
Once you're at Box Hill you can head to Portsmouth then along the coast to Brighton (or just back the way you came). There are a lot of smaller road routes back from Brighton but if you've had enough you can get back into London on the A23.
All of these routes are busy on sunny weekends though.
Anyone got a decent route out of London to any coast on the SE? Either that, or somewhere that has good driving routes once you're out of London.
