Was at the uk bike show last year and rode a bunch of decent mid drive city/hybrid bikes back to back. Me and a mate both preferred the slightly more relaxed geo hybrids to the racer stuff, were faster in the corners and more predictable at the limit of grip.
On our eBullitt it has an e8000 mid drive which is limited to 16 mph and honestly most of the time you are wanting to ride beyond that speed limiter and its a cargo bike, a regular road bike that cuts out at 16mph is just going to be frustrating unless there are some mad hills.
Agree that e bikes don't have to look like something from the 50s hovis advert though
the assist is the point, for the physically incapable to enjoy cycling where they would drive or not go instead
I am physically capable but I still want one, they need to hurry up and trickle down/have better design.
