Incorrect! It was invented by coca-cola during the war, as the allies had inconveniently stopped selling things to Nazi controlled areas - something to do with the Nazis being raging shitheads or something - but the coke company was like, Nazi money is still money, and so they made a replacement for all the stuff they couldnt get (the tasty bits which make coke brown) and turned out fanta from apples and beet sugar.
