That was unfair of me. They changed the strap/end link.

I debated that Citizen... but I have too many dive watches so went with this

I like the recraft series, and for $70 can't go wrong.

I do like a murdered out Rolex... but the Prohunter logo in red, and the wopping $19k price tag kinda stopped me (for 9k I'd have done it)

That said, the Pro-Hunter Steve McQueen Explorer II isn't terrible but still 18k Euro ... bit rich

Nah, it's got to be the original.

Dress watches... I need to attend a black tie event soon. A very rare occasion for me. It's a good reason to get a nice, but not expensive dress watch. Apart from Seiko presage, where do I start? I'd like 38-40mm, thinnish, probably a silver or black dial. Not a gold case. I have seen some Hamilton and orients that are ok but tend to have date windows and/or on the thicker end.

$2925 for a 3570.50 Speedmaster on bracelet without box or papers. Decent deal in this day and age? Currently the cheapest I can find new is $4500 from an AD in the Caribbean or grey market is in the US before sales tax is $4195.... Not sure I'll find a much better deal.

@TRA Junghans Meister, the hand wound one maybe?
Really hard to beat Seiko for cheap dress watches though.

That is great value.

Hmm, thanks. Junghans are nice but far too expensive. Presage it is.... Or a "homage"....

Actually I’ve pulled my socks up and done more of a dig. How about this?
40mm, manual wind, no date.

Excellent deal given that the 50th anniversary was a few days ago. Prices do seem to be up on the Speedys. If I were in your shoes I'd go for it. (If you don't please shout!)

Great, I now have a Seiko automatic I have no need for on its way from seiyajapan!

He's gonna do it for $2625 without the 1998/849 bracelet. Saves me the hassle of selling it. Will only ever be on a NATO. Think we are a go 😁

Grats... My trigger finger twitched for a second... the dials are great on them. I wouldn’t wear it enough though.

Nice deal!

Bracelet is nice to have when you decide to sell though

Tissot have a few nice ones but again tend to have date windows and on the thicker (11/12mm) end.
Personally I'd go with the Orient Bambino or something smaller and vintage like an old seamaster.

This has got me looking now. Isn't this lovely?

Definitely not one for resale value. That’s a helluva lot of non-original stuff going on there. Redial, polished case, non-Omega crystal, etc. Looks great but certainly not ‘original’.

I'm impressed with my Strapcode oyster. I didn't go for the extendable buckle as its bigger. I know they're expensive, but they are good.
Personally I'd echo the other sentiments about going rubber strap. It's also less of a heat/cold conductor.
