Yeah, that was pretty impressive... I was worried for a bit because it was so tall that it looked like it might be a house, but it really seems to have been just haystacks.

Ah we saw this way off to our right for ages... (we took a wrong turn and did 95miles without seeing another soul...) generally (and I’m no expert) stuff that’s not meant to burn, houses etc give off thick black smoke, stuff that is gives off white smoke, organic stuff... looked like it was huge but deliberately constructed from our distance... 🤷♂️

Has anyone mentioned the giant haystack fire near Hedingham Castle yet? That was pretty dramatic. One classic DD moment was being cheered on by drinkers outside a pub in Tyler's Green one for a car simultaneously sped past in the opposite direction with the driver shouting "wankers!!!!"
