the noise of some of the bikes definitely made me think that a car was about to smack me with their wingmirror but it was just a club train buzzing past me rather close instead.
I had that with lights instead. There was a group of 3 or 4 cyclists with really strong headlights coming up from behind at some point and then just kind of hanging around semi-behind me. I thought it was a car based on the lights and got quite frustrated until I realised it was just a bunch of bicycles...

An extra takeaway, given I've only ever really done long solo rides, a 100km 'audax', and inner city things like cobblemonster and Fixed Beers rides, the Dynamo has definitely confirmed my decision to not want to join a traditional cycling club.
