I wanted to let the forum know that Talbot Frameworks will be closing its books as of today.
Very sad news.
It has been a hell of a ride, you should be very proud of everything you've done with Talbot. A lot of people here - including me - are proud just to own one.
Good luck with Isen.

Some honest self reflection there and I admire you for taking to the Internet for all to read.
Sounds like a wise decision Matt and that you've learnt a lot.
Suppose Isen triple tandem is out of the question? :) -
• #404
Give me a deadline, I promise to miss it!
There is a isen tandem in the pipeline, but not triple alas. Isen business plan is to play bicycle keyword bingo going forward, so Reynolds pinion rohloff s & a coupling tandem gravel bike incoming.

Ahhh, the halcyon fillet brazing days of misery. 😄

Sorry to hear about Talbot fading (see what I did there?), but good you're not going far away.

I'm sorry (for my sake, and at least I have an Isen) that I never had the chance to get myself a Talbot, but glad that you're still going to be making bikes. Hopefully this will give time, money and energy to make Isen all it can be.
Please keep building custom bling kids bikes though. Think of the children

Don't think I ever posted the last one? Here is is anyway. Will still be making them, and if anyone asks for achondroplasia bikes I'll do them as well.

CSB but I bumped into a rider with achondroplasia a few weeks ago, and I wondered if her bike was a Talbot. It wasn't but we had a nice if brief chat. While the majority of custom frames are indulgences, it's nice to see one that truly makes a difference in the life of its owner. Good on you to carry on making those.

Very nice! The world needs more kids carrying their own bidons.
Also +1 to keep making achondroplasia bikes.

And here's the other child's new bike.

Honestly can't believe my 853 for 853 is almost 6 years old. Madness! Sounds like exciting times for Isen, best wishes and thanks for the awesome bike

chuck up a recent pic! loved that bike

I know, the days of fillets and canti studs. 😄

I was going to do a kickstarter with Giles (the first guy I built one for) to get a load made in Taiwan as the a custom frame is not affordable for most people, but it coincided with isen, so there was no time.

Bummer. Sad I'll never get my own Talbot, but my next proper bike will definitely be an ISEN.

shame....i only hunted this thread out to mention the lovely green Talbot I saw on the Dynamo....all the nice bits, and that lovely wishbone...
Good luck with the Isen name, moving forwards.

I am the real victim here.
I came all the way from India, climbed the social mobility ladder to make myself able for a lifestyle purchase of a Talbot Frameworks bicycle and Matt pulls the mat underneath me ?!?!
Who's going to make me e-Pinion cargo bike now?!
-
• #420
Dear Susan, much more of a lifestyle purchase anyway.
