2.6 is the sweet spot, all of the benefits of 3" without the weight penalty.
I have to say, I don't think building a 2.6 front end was worth it over the 2.4 I had before
It's a little bit nicer with a rigid fork. Unlikely to notice with a big bouncy one :-)
