My success at cutting tiles with a Dremel was minimal. I went with a vibrating multi-tool with a tile blade which did the job but was still slow.

It wouldn't take long to do...... :)

I'll drop the poles and hacksaw round and you can start cutting...

Shame I don't have a cut-off saw to hand. For lighter steel I use a rothenburger pipe cutter which is way easier than the hacksaw but those poles do look chunky. Did you actually do them with a hacksaw rather than freehand it with a grinder?

They came in a kit cut to size, all I need to do was bolt together. Only took an hour to build. I think I would use angle grinder with a cutting disc - you don't see the cut edge anyway

Get a hasp and staple from somewhere like Ironmongery Direct. They are pretty cheap, and come with the bolts and screws you need to fix them.

Thank you! Can you please link to one? I'm getting lots of laminate flooring cutters...

Will an angle grinder get into the corners?
-
• #17686
Thanks.
I guess I can fill in the screw holes too.

The screws are covered when the hasp is closed. https://www.ironmongerydirect.co.uk/product/heavy-pattern-hasp-and-staple-150mm-vertical-663875

Cheers. Was thinking more about the hinges.
Not an impressive job, but slowly getting through various little bits in the evening.
Child safety catches are a fucker. Time consuming too. Mistakenly went by the template so our kitchen cabinet insides have a few extra holes.
Pleased with finally getting some extra shelving started in one of our little sheds.
Managed to grab a load of old promo beer mats from a project we worked with once. Turned over and stuck down they create a nice grippy surface that also helps to hide the misc bit of IKEA that the shelf is made from.

At some point I'd like to paint the inside properly. At the time I just did the ceiling / to reflect the Mr Beams light, but then diluted the leftover to white to whitewash the whole thing. As tatty as it looks it's actually quite effective in a small space. Especially in winter. But a neater job would be nice.

Bar a couple of pictures to go over the sofa, we finished the living room yesterday...
Really happy with how it looks.
Can also definitely recommend Craig & Rose paints. The blue is single coat with about 2/3 of a 2.5L tin. The finish is incredibly consistent.
Cat tax included.

That looks great. But what everyone really wants is garage pics ;)
Good to know about the Craig & Rose paints.

Not 100% diy (although you put it together yourself), but I've had these guys saved for a while. They'll do custom measurements and I'm not sure it's much cheaper to buy the wood.
Always wondered how the get the various cars and vans onto their stuff for the promo shots.

Craig and Rose 1829 chalky emulsion in French Turquoise is my favourite wall paint

Funny you should say that... I think that’s what we’ve chosen for a couple of walls in the kitchen.

Prob obvious but not something I've come across before. Curtains going into a bay window wall - the poles were already installed when we moved and one has fallen out taking a chunk of wall with it. The wall in this particular corner is very very thing - like just plasterboard seemingly - the sides are fine, but the centre of the bay seems like it would be futile to re-drill. Quite heavy curtains - what to do? Presume some kind of anchor or something rather than bricking the fucker up?

Greyhound approved? Ours is picky when it comes to 🌱
Something like an angle grinder with diamond cutting disc will work better. Masking tape on the tiles, then mark and cut. Will be dusty.
