Vuelta is often the best stage race of the season, what! End of contract desperation, GC riders who haven't picked up anything in previous GTs going all out, lax Spanish doping controls. Vuelta is the one.

I'm not saying its not a good race but its usually the poor cousin of the other two (at least as regards public perception). Plus I've never heard anyone claim its better than the tour (until now). I've heard Giro is better than the Tour a million times though.

Yeah, doesn't have the glamour of the other two admittedly but I definitely enjoy it a lot more than Giro or TdF.
