I'd also.recomend nylon thread and leather needed. To stich up sidewall tears.

Jesse did a really good kit list of stuff that he took on Race to the Rock a couple of years ago. It's on facebook so impossible to find it now, but I remember he had a needle and thread, for stiching up skin tears!

Skin! I carry sterie strip and gorilla tape for that.
I couldn't needle myself.
