Thanks all for the feedback. I'm trying to limit bikes, particularly ones that won't get used much and having a road bike that can do more than just road is very appealing. I'm just trying to avoid ending up with something that feels sluggish as i'd imagine 80% of it's time will be spent on the road.
I'd say the latest Arkose doesn't look that bad as an all-round bike. Taller, so may appeal if you ride with a stack of spacers.
Still would go for the Dolomite, 32c is enough for the odd towpath excursion
