  • I like That! What forks are those? @suffolk_boii

  • Nice!
    RAL 6000? Or maybe 6003...?

I can supply any of Genesis' current frameset offerings with a custom powdercoat finish in a colour of your choice straight out the box BTW, for anyone that may be in the market looking to do something similar to the above! Either with or without Vinyl graphics.... Cost will be the same as standard RRP of a factory finish frameset + shipping (some non stock powder finishes may cost a little extra as the powder will need to be ordered in specifically for the project).

Can also apply graphics on top of the powder with wet paint and then two coats of 2k laquer if you want something a little more fancy... This process is a great way of prducing a really classy and unique finish, with graphics under the clear, yet still retains the rock solid durability of powdercoat, and cost way less than a full wet paint finish... The Mercredi below is painted on graphics and clear coat over a powdercoat base.

Lead time is normally two - three weeks. Steel/alloy frames only obviously, but I can also supply any of their carbon frames painted to your taste also, but cost on this is obviously higher.

Full standard Genesis warranty will remain intact too.

shoot me an eamil on info@colourburnstudio.com if anyone wants to chat.

These look ace, and so versatile!

I only discovered that genesis made these the other day, just happens to tick every single box for the dad biek that I want to build so I’m on the hunt for a size S!

  • What bars ?

  • No, it's the Sturmey's SRK-3 which is lighter and more idiot-proof than the Alfine.

  • The Mk1 Longitude as above was designed for 29+ish wheels with slacker HT angle, Mk2 was for B+ hoops and more trail ready with suspension corrected forks, still managed to squeeze 29+ though!

Not 100% sure about the Mk3 - afaik they went back to the original design with B+ wheels and slightly steeper angles..?

  • Longitude: Bontrager RL Carbon 720
    Fortitude: can't remember
    D01 Decade: Whyte Gravel 48cm
    D01 520: On-One Midge
High Lat SS: Superstar Components 780

  • Tbh for my needs any of them would be absolutely fine. Do like the way the mk2 looks with the 29+ wheels though, makes the back end look slightly less crazy long. That must be good fun to ride. Do + sized tyres not feel incredibly sluggish? Or do you just accept it and pootle? I’ve got limited experience or riding anything larger than road tyres tbh.

  • Depends on the tyre, pressure etc I'd say. I've found the Surly's Knard tyres to roll well however they're not the best in terms of offroad grip especially in the wet, Dirt Wizzards are much better but are heavier and draggier. Bontrager's Chupacabras (or XR2 as they're called now) are also quite good in terms of weights and rolling, similar to Knards...
Accept and pootle is the name of the game :)

  • Thanks, it was the midge I was particularly interested in

  • looks really good. I'm quite tempted to build mine back up after seeing how nice it looks...
