Looks like we're going for a Datum for my partner, now for me...
After building up a recently acquired 54 CAAD 9 it's feeling pretty long for me even with a 90mm stem and Ritchey NCS bars (383 reach, 546 stack). I need a lot of setback so that accounts for +30mm and i've not been on a road bike for over a year now but didn't expect things to feel this awkward. I'm 5ft 10", short limbed, long bodied, ok not great flexibility and think something shorter/taller might be more comfortable to ride and easier to make longer as flexibility improves.
Having never had a disc road frame I'm quite keen to build up something newer. On paper the Giant Defy advanced looks like it could work well for me but is well out of budget. The closest thing I've found so far is the Pinnacle Dolomite 5 frameset (375 reach, 555 stack), size S is pretty close to a medium Giant (377 reach, 567 stack). Going from a 785 to 743 standover might be a bit comical though.
Any other good shorter/taller options? Would consider rim brake but would prefer disc for the added clearance. Tapered fork and mounts not crucial but would be nice (Dolomite has them).
