I had a pair of Merrell's until recently - can't recall if their whole range is vegan, but the walking boots I had were. They were Gore-Tex, so good waterproofing. However, the sole came loose after about 18 months, which is the first time I've had a performance issue with a pair of Merrell's.
The missus is back. There is no branding on her boots but she got them from a Third Estate on Brecknock Road. They are not as breathable as her old Haglofs but have broken in nicely and she is mainly happy with them.
Arcteryx synthetic stuff is the dogs bollocks. Check out Atom LT / Atom AR, they’re kind of an insulated active mid/outer layer aimed at climbing and the like, but they’re just all round amamzing jackets.
Did anybody ask what sort of trek Liz will be doing? Is there any chance she will need to wear crampons? Is it on hiking paths all the way or will she need to traverse scree slopes or scramble at any points?
Liz just signed us up for a trek in the alps next summer. Need insulated jacket and walking boots. Vegan ramblers, talk to me!
