I have front and rear. I used the front for commuting to carry laptop and clothes. Never any issues. I lent the rears to a mate for a Danube trip. They are cavernous and he didn’t use the additional strap on sections.

Yes, as much as I can. The weight of the laptop is heavier than my clothes but I also have tools, spare tubes etc to balance things up.
