Triburst gets my vote for the bursts...
Oxblood is my favourite though I think...

Great work on the LP dude. So far beyond by skills I can't even.
Nahg, once again you have nailed the every aesthetic decision being the polar opposite of the one i'd make.

Glad to be of service ;)

Cheers chaps. I think covet a goldtop more than anything, but it would be so much work to paint. Also, it's my first LP, so I believe a sunburst is practically a legal obligation :)

Morning kiddos, would some of our resident Les Paul experts mind checking this one out? It looks legit to me, but I'm not an expert.

Only thing I think is odd is that the serial number appears to have one extra digit according to this:
"Custom Shop regular production models
CSYRRRR
CS stands for "Custom Shop"
Y indicates the production year
RRRR indicates the guitar's place in the sequence of productionExample: CS10845 is the 845th reg. production CS model produced in 2001."
The serial in the pic has six numerics rather than the five specified above - I may have the wrong model there tho

I'd love a gold top with P90s!

Wanna change the out the annoying no-load tone pot in my tele for a normal one. 250K on a tele right?

Going to see it this weekend, not sure I can afford it as I'm taking the car in for a service today, but... Someone just messaged me about buying my Silvertone so we could be in luck!

I bought a used, suitably scuzzy Rat for pennies from some bloke off FB today. It’s the first Rat I’ve ever owned, it sounds incredible and now all I want to do is play Sugarcube.

I stuck an ad on Craig’s for my Vox AC4 - don’t use it. And if I’m going to have a bottle amp, I’m going to have the AK47 of bottle amps, not a peashooter. If I get a couple of hundy, it can go in the electrocution fund.

Car service cost exactly what I had hoped to pay for the 900... Hmm...
Need to shift the AC15 and the Silvertone ASAP...

And a crown fell out today, that's another five hunnert bucks down the toilet... Price drops on my sales, fingers crossed...

I'd love to have this. I really can't afford to buy any more guitar stuff at the moment :( contemplating selling some stuff to make a space for it... €2,000 otherwise which is a steal for a Wal!

Apologies not really guitar nerd, but I want to buy my 8 year old son an electric guitar (and amp?) when he can play a song on his acoustic. I don't know where to start or how much to save, any advice gratefully received
-
• #6946
they're made in a shed in surrey.
this is a peppermint humbug
-
• #6947
Has he expressed an interest in an electric guitar? If not, I'd possibly get a nicer acoustic. What's he currently got?
-
• #6948
Oh right enough, I knew they were from a shed in Surrey alright, also have sampled a peppermint humbug or two in my time, presume this is in reference to the neck construction?
-
• #6949
Yes, he's very keen, he's in a band (with other 8 year olds who can't really play a whole song) I have no idea what the acoustic is, we bought it second hand thinking it would be a flash in the pan, but a couple of years of lessons later and he's developed a passion for playing. Teacher (local musician yoof) seems to think the acoustic is good enough.

That's awesome. What size is the acoustic (assume a kids size one)? Might be worth checking with his teacher what scale to get.
Edit:
I don't really know how big eight year olds are but this looks pretty cool with a smaller scale length, narrower nut :https://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-dept/electric-guitars/les-paul/epiphone-les-paul-express-in-vintage-sunburst
Amazing work! Know what you mean - I probably love the 2 tone tobacco burst best but burst schemes in general with the grain showing are glorious. I'm still coveting a swamp ash Tele in tobacco burst.
@>>>>>> Did you get the JCM?
