mate of mine booked a hoseasons narrow boat for a trip up the thames for his stag do.. kidlington to oxford.. it was hilarious.
apocalpse now style with cooked brekkie, drinks, drugs, music on board. then gatecrashed a few college balls in oxford. the boat had 8 berths by the weekend 15 bodies. he was at brooks college so knew all the student haunts..
quite a good four days in all, very messy and getting back on the boat each night very dangerous.. what with water being everywhere lol

On a separate note;
My London based pal has decided he doesn't want a stag do as with their wedding being in France he doesn't want to impose any further cost on us all.
Obviously this is unacceptable.
I'm in cahoots with his missus that she might concoct a ruse to get him somewhere out of the city where all of his mates can lie in wait and ambush him with a weekend of fun and binge drinking.
Most of us will be travelling from Ireland.
Any suggestions for somewhere easily accessed from airports and sensibly priced for stag fun?

Organised my mate's stag do a few years back - booked a couple of these yurts near East Grinstead (but in lovely countryside) - https://yoghurtrooms.com/accommodation/traditional-mongolian-yurts/- so very close to Gatwick for airport convenience. It was great - had a half-day out mackerel fishing off Brighton, bbq'd them on the beach, then just massive eating/drinking/partying at the yurts. We hired a sound system, cooked a shit load of meat and sat/danced/fell around a bonfire all night. Played poker at one point. Do recommend.

The aforementioned stag took place last weekend;
We ended up going to a place in Wicklow in Ireland that a friends family owns, a funny little piece of land with a man-made lake and a camping spot in the woods they retained when they sold a big nearby country estate years ago.
We ordered a bunch of inflatable dinghies, scuba masks, slingshots, paintballs and pool inflatables.
We also built an 8' x 8 ' x 2' hot tub in the woods and I concocted a heating system using an old barrel, a heat exchanger from a decommissioned air source heat pump and a submersible well pump running from a generator. We got it up to 45°c at one point and had to add some more cold water so I'd call it a big success, we had the space enough for 14 lads to hop in too!
We came up with an amazing drinking game on the lake which was sort of a hybrid of Mario Kart and Wacky Races.
Three teams of two in the dinghies with a can of beer to be downed to start, a race from the jetty to the island and back with targets on the way for immunity from people on the shore shooting you with paintballs and obviously lots of people shooting each other with paintballs regardless. Losing teams had to "walk the plank" (a greasy slippery plank) while being shot with paintballs and defended by their teammates and if they put a foot down or fell off before reaching the end they had to start again until they made it to the end.Hilarity ensued.
DIY stag entertainment is the best if you can find a spot to set up something fun!
