  • Gladiatorial efforts both, what magic they bring to the sport..

  • Anyone going along this year? I'm looking at joining the queue on Wednesday

  • Ive got court 1 tickets wednesday!

was hoping for a raonic or nadal game but seems unlikely, might catch raonic on non first i guess.

  • I'm going on Sunday 14th with ballot tickets. Never been before, anything in particular we should look to do, apart from watching tennis obviously.

  • If you're a HSBC customer they usually give you free strawberries & cream if you can be bothered joining the queue and flashing your debit/credit card

Have a good wander around the site, it's quite nice.

Take a bottle - there are water taps scattered around.

Suncream etc. - you'll be sat in the sun for hours, hopefully.

If you don't have tickets for a particular court, you will spend some time queuing to get to a court.

They run their own FM radio station which is quite good so if you have a small FM radio, take that. Maybe it's streamed too nowadays, but streaming all day long is asking a bit much for a phone.

  • Get near the returns "shed" at about 4.30, 5pm. You can often get dirt cheap centre court tickets once the corporate guests are drunk and head home to Surrey.

I've only done this on weekdays but presume it is possible at weekends too.

  • We're looking to go on Wednesday this year too. I've been on the weekend before and turned up at 7 as #1500-ish.
Approximately what time would be the same on a weekday? 8?

  • It is. Used to be ten quid a pop, but might have gone up now. Relies on the poshos handing in their tickets when they leave.

  • I got here at 0615 or so and am 3180 in the queue

  • 7:50 #5940

  • Better put the rapha cap on for the spotted thread i guess

  • Currently in the corner of court 4 watching some women's doubles. Good so far.

  • Had a great time. Spent a lot of it on court 3. Watched a bunch of doubles too but my highlight was catching the new kids on the block thrash it out. Moutet vs Auger-Aliassime.

  • I was on court 3 for the end of the Raonic match. A colleague spent over 7h on court 3 and came out looking pretty toasty.

  • Nice one, cheers for this. Looking forward to it.

  • Oh and it gets chilly in the evening. You'll probably want a lightweight jacket (it'll probably rain today as well)

  • Daughter had a piano lesson so couldn't go straight after school but there as soon as we could. Got to the back of the queue at 4.15pm, in at 7.10pm (only £5 for me, daughter was free as the teller said she 'looks under 7').

No point going for any of the outer courts as so little was still on and they were all full. Got to sit on a bench at the top of Henman Hill and watch the ends of a good few matches (Nishikori, Raonic and then left not long before the Murray mixed doubles game was called off). Got on the first bus that turned up and we were home by 9pm.

    Great atmosphere for cheap.

  • this statement, again..

Gladiatorial efforts both, what magic they bring to the sport..

  • I've managed at least 3 naps during this match. It's great.

  • WOW!

  • amazing game. federer deserved it for me, he was better overall but nole saved two match points so well done to him.

  • Agree. And he is a proper sportsman. Really classy athlete.
