• I'm looking at having a clear out of a few cherished bike assets. Here we have a true bit of London's cycling heritage and is definitely a league or two above the usual retro lightweight offerings - with apologies to the Raleigh and Peugeot purists.

This was built by a top frame builder Bill Grey in 1968 for H E 'Doc' Green's shop in Morden, south London and has the frame number 11682 stamped on the underneath of the BB. You will find reference to this particular build in the piece written by Bryan Clarke on the Classic Lightweight's site for H E Green - wrongly referenced as frame No. 116682. This frame has only ever had two owners both being members of the Morden CRC, a club associated with H E Greens. During its existence the frame was refurbed by Emperor Sports of Sutton and remained unused for nearly 30 years.

Frame size is 23" centre to top and the top tube c to c is 22.5". Gears are all Campagnolo including the bar end shifters. The 52/42 chain set and seat post are also Campag. Pedals are by MKM, bar stem is Cinelli and the bars beautifully engraved are by Delmondo. Brakes are Altenberger Synchron. The bike goes like a dream but the rear wheel hub could benefit at some point with a service and the wheel given a bit of re truing. I am selling this as I have two others and am looking to top up the Bank of Mum and Dad.

I can sell the frame stripped of everything for £175 or the complete bike for £400, a bargain given the components fitted. Collection only from RG6 near to Earley Station - S W trains from Waterloo and close to Jcts 10/11 of the M4. I can only upload one picture so if you want anymore just ask. The Cateye computer fittings and short mudguards are not included.

Pse call me on 07584 044161 as I don't regularly get to check my messages online.

    Thanks
    Shaun
