  • Tom Southam has been riding one of the new SuperSix frames here in Bristol for a while now.... he comes on DRK Tuesday morning rides pretty regularly when he’s not on EF DS duties.

I think it’s an inevitable move away from the traditional frame shape of the old SuperSix’s TBF.... yeah, I’m sure Cannondale will lose some customers who like the oldschool silhouette they’ve stuck with up until now, but I doubt they really care, as the new customers they will be getting with the new direction will massively out weigh the die hard horizontal TT or GTFO crowd.

At least there will be a wave of second hand old style supersixes hitting eBay after the new one hits the market, huh!

Personally, I dig the new shape... but I’m a strong advocate of evolution! (Apart from the current trend of overly complicated ugly aero bikes.... they can fuck right off)

I think the new direction Cannondale is going is long over due TBH.

Guilty. I’ve got the new SystemSix and it’s rapid. On the flat 90km loop I do round here, I was about 1.5kph faster this morning off a ride I did last year with the same NP.

How much is the wheels (last year was on normal section rims) and how much is the frame? Was the wind a factor?

I don’t know but it feels fast.

I love old bikes but I also like going really fast at times. Thankfully there’s room for both.
