I'm sure plenty of people turned it down. A friend is one rung below senior civil servant and has a lot of experience with the UK and EU courts and there were a few overtures to her from the Brexit dept a few years ago.
She politely declined, and less politely said to me there was no way she wanted that shower of shit on her CV.
/CSBI don't think there's anything wrong with someone 33 leading something. Plenty of useless 50 year olds and useful 33 year olds
I'm trying not to sound like I'm casting aspersions on Mr Skinner's ability, and it's possible I'm just projecting onto myself at that age, but doesn't 33 sound a little young to be in charge of a massive change project? Like, perhaps, a few more experienced hands may have turned it down before him?
