I bought this beautiful stem for my touring bike, it's for 25,4 bars and the quill part is 22,2. It came without a bolt and expander but I didn't worry about that because I've got lots of those in my parts bin. But unfortunately none of them fit! The hole in the stem is too small for a normal m8 bolt. The stem is Italian, ITM according to the seller. Does anyone know which size bolt I need and where I can get one? Thanks!

Standard rack that came with the bike indeed. I’ll be changing it to something else towards the future. Something stainless probably.

Haha yes that's where I bought it

Usual size is more like M6 or 1/4” (~6.3mm), not M8.

M8 is normal, I think the Italians liked to flirt with M7 now and then. It's not clear from @kjlem 's post which hole is too small - a lot of stem makers also like to put undersized heads on their bolts (for fairly legitimate reasons), so if the through hole is 8mm but the counterbore is less than 13mm, a hardware store bolt isn't going to work and it's off down the proprietary route, or at least to the lathe to trim a bit off the head.

If there is enough material you could drill the stem to take the m8 bolt?

Bikes are never 'finished' but not much has changed on this in nearly 2 years I think. No upgrades planned either. Very happy!

This is fantastic really. Its great when you get it spot on the first time.
How do you find that saddle? I'm still on a Spesh Power which is the best I've found so far but its still not perfect, maybe a little flat side to side. Similar width with a bit of curve might be the sweet spot for me.

Def not first time. Should see the photos from when I first built it! Saddle is my ideal shape I would say. Tried flites, slr 135, composite(?) and this is comfy from when I get on to the end of the ride. I have a spare red one thats a v similar shape if you want to try one
