Since I'm not commuting on that bike and it's summer it's not been much of an issue. I do worry about running out of juice though and I don't yet have a USB charging option (the D1 is still on the Kinesis on the turbo).
Still not sure if I should take sleep kit for my TransP sightseeing tour or just hotel it.

Corn or something?
I always have really loose shoes, mainly so I don't get hot foot. I get them at least 2 sizes bigger than normal. With the flat shoes I shim the left one by putting plastic sheets under the insole so need a bit of space for that to work.

That's a good idea - you can charge up some old car batteries in case there is a power cut. Makes more sense than using it when you are grinding up the Tourmalet...

Nah, nothing obvious like that. It's just super painful in the area like I've crushed it too much. Backing the straps riiiight off seems to help but it's nagging. 2 sizes bigger?! Mine are normal size and I just run them loose but I've been having to get looser. Could look at a bigger pair but it's hard getting Scherrit's time to sort them out.

I'd love to be able to store household power from turbo training!
The D1 is a nice insurance option. I normally have enough juice in batteries but if I fail to get a hotel or I'm on a bivvy mission then I can use it to charge/run stuff without any power source.

Yeah, it's Finn's fault!
Or go flat pedal - but probably a bit late in the day to try new stuff now. -
• #1233
Yeah, I'll stick with what I've got... right up until the week before when I'll change everything.

How concerned are you?
Chest infection, antibiotics for 5 days.
relieved to get diagnosis, should be able to ride properly again by next weekend.
Means I've not ridden much in June, when I had planned to be riding loads, but probably won't make that much difference overall. -

Missed this, still on for Ditchling Devil?
-
• #1236
Yes, should be ok. If chest still iffy I'll just take it a bit easier.

I'm sure Sofia is a lovely place but it's currently in my bad books!
-
• #1238
It certainly took me ages to route thru/around it!
-
• #1239
I've changed my mind on how to tackle it.
It's just a sprawling mess and all the roads seem to go to the centre haha -

Just as a random question, how do you guys manage fatigue in hot weather. I did a ride in Thailand earlier this year which wiped me out totally and the last two hot days riding here have sucked the life out of me. Is it just hydration, trying to keep cooler and managing effort?
-
• #1241
With difficulty. When it's over 40, I find it hard going.
Drink lots + salts for hydration
Ice cream helps. It doesn't really but it tastes good when it's really hot!
Ride more at night and sleep in the shade somewhere in the afternoon.
In Australia, lots of people buy ice and stuff it in bottles, down jersey, etc - as it's easy to find. May not be in Bulgaria. -

Bjorn and Stephane are always good value as dots to follow. Fair few familiar names. Do we have an lfgss start list? Good luck @frank9755.

rj #15
Samuli #84
Goatandtricycle #141
Hippy #142
Frank9755 #155
Swissy #167
Peterboynton #208Others I know include:
Ivan cornell, lives in London and rides fixed but dk if he's on here, is doing it singlespeed
Mike Sheldrake, aka Shell, done loads of ultras, overtook me three times on indypac
Chris Herbert, fast audaxer, TT rider and chain smoker (I exaggerate, not really chain) . Started in 2016 with broken shoulder and had to pack. Should be podium contender.
Matthew falconer, came second last time so should be up there too.
Stuart Mccormick, met him at the start of indypac. 5 minutes later he came down on tramlines, broke his shoulder and was the first dnf.
Mikko, ridden every tcr
Doug Migden, done almost every one, another indypac veteran. -

He's just posted something 20 mins so which suggests he's riding
Yeah Speedplay sucks for walking. I've never noticed any problems there. Recently I have been running my shoes totally loose though because I'm getting pain on my right small toe knuckle. It's like my foot has got wider or something this year. Odd.
