Struck me as a pretty weather-proof route, I doubt mud would be too much of a problem. I did a bit of a write-up and some pics here:

Helpful, thanks. Current setup is 43mm rock and roads (after Resolutes and Nanos funnily enough). Main concern is mud clearances if it gets wet and comfort on long descents.
Current set-up has seen off TNR and Gritfest, but both left me wondering if the switch to bigger clearances was a good option.
