Basically:
SRAM Force 22 crankset (2x):
SRAM Force 1 crankset (1x):
Both have the same 'direct mount' system to mount the spider - obviously, the 1x has a spider suited to a single chainring, the 2x has a spider suited to mounting two chainrings.
Now, you can buy 'direct mount' chainrings from other brands that are meant to fit the SRAM 1x cranks, such as this WolfTooth one, fully replacing the spider:
Can I just mount this on the 2x crankset as well, seeing as the system is the same, and end up with the correct chainline for a 1x system?

Ah. That I'm not 100% sure on. I assume the cranks are identical so it'd be fine...
I do know you could just fit one of these onto the inside of the 110/130bcd double spider

Not quite sure exactly what you're asking but I've had a lot of success running 1x chain rings (usually the Hope ones) on the inside position of road double cranksets (Ultegra, sram red etc). However, that only works with 42t or smaller chainrings, as otherwise you're in danger of hitting the chainstays. It depends on your frame but going larger, you'd have to run them in the big ring position which would give you a worse chainline. I think it would still work but wouldn't be as ideal as you'd constantly be cross chaining.
I assume the 1x direct mount spider / chainring would fix that issue.
