  • It was harsh but they were all the correct decisions, they got off lightly in some ways given that Cameroon should have had two sent off. It would probably have worked out a bit better if the referee had some authority over the match.

    Saying that, VAR is shit. I'm really not looking forward to going to matches next season.

  • I agree the England goal was a correct decision

    The Cameroon goal being disallowed because her foot was 6 inches offside was ridiculous. The letter of the law might have been applied, but the spirit of the law was nowhere to be seen. Under any reasonable assessment she was level with the defender and the goal should have stood.

    When I watch football I want to see goals and celebration, not some poindexter applying a televisual sliderule.

    I think teams should be allowed 2 challenges per match like cricket.

  • That's the trouble with this VAR, it's meant to be clear and obvious errors but they haven't got any margin for error so it gets applied for everything.

    It's just another thing to provide a bit of entertainment for neutrals watching on TV rather than the actual fans at the ground.
