  • It's not that odd. That's how most TTs work.

    I guess that's true. But with TTs the person who completes the course in the shortest time wins, you can't stop on a roundabout and have a rest and stop the clock!

    It's just different from other ultras. A multi-stage race, with the option to choose the length of time between stages.

  • MTB Enduros and rallies though work this way. But I don't know what they do at the 'gaps'. I presume they have time limits to get started again.

  • Rode Gritfest this weekend gone which is very similar format, along with other Racing collective events.

    The vets winner (Oli Beckinsale) beat me by over 30 mins, but came in an hour after me. Like you say, just how it works.

  • I should have known that this is how it works as I actually looked at doing some of their shorter events, eg CotsDuro, to do some off-road practice. But inevitably I didn't have time and it didn't come off. Or I CBA to travel all the way to the start when I'd realised where it was.
    Look like fun events, though.
