oh man, that would honestly rule. I can't be trusted with physical craftwork though, I've been in the 2-d game too long.

I had a look on ebay but could only find one and it was like £20.
I did buy a lot of 3 steel itm quill stems that I'm gonna hack up and put 31.8 clamps on.

Challenge accepted. Your thread gives me motivations.

yeah, they tend to go for more on eBay. Co-op is the way to go if you've got a local one.
I'm in the US but at least here you're basically guaranteed to be able to find at least one or two in the stems bin; I guess GT must have been making a lot of threadless bikes and putting them on basically every single one for a few years there.

Yeah I need to take a trip to the coop and see what they have.

I got one! Was riding past the bike coop place today, limping home because my pedal bearings were loose, totally not planning on going in but I just heard a little voice... ”...come in, there’s something for you...” and there it was.
£10 so not super cheap and chrome so I’ll need to file/sand that off to braze on It but the steerer clamp thing is so neat!

Whoa, haven't seen one with the double bottom-clamp like that! Super cool.

oh nice. Putting different clamps on cool stems is one of those things that make me wish I could braze.
