Check Caren's ebay listings

LoL
Impressive work to even find it!

• #354
It might be behind a massive box of my stuff
Reminds me, I can mention that in the 'anonymous' thread I'm writing..

LoL
That entire thread is such facepalm.
It, and others like it, read like the comments section under a Stewart Lee article in the Observer

Following on from tweaking a few of the bikes, it would appear that we are now definetly moving back down to a city, Edinburgh in case you were wondering.
This has meant some srs bike converstaions, as we wont have a garage anymore. I've been very lucky to amass a decent collection of bikes across Scotland and London, 9 in all.
Ailsa has somehow 'managed' to get buy with only two and in an bold act, undercutting my pitch, she has said that she is going to get rid of one of them.. This sadly (but lets be honest, sensibly) means that I have to go down to three bikes in Scotland.
Logically this means
- Keeping the Elsegood but in parts and putting it in the loft
- Keeping the BC Rourke, because its amazing.
- Keeping the Tarn because MTB
- Recomisioning the Trainbiek as a proper do it all road bike again
This then means that the SpaceBiek and the Red winter Rourke are in the wind.
I really dont want to get rid of Spacebiek, so I may have to berth it somewhere, (Mitcham or are there any good cheap storage options in Edinburgh that anyone knows of, garages seem very expensive there) but I think the Red Rourke will have to go :( , as will a Lugless Claud Butler frame I have.
So.
I quite like the Trainbike set up 1x, but the ratios are cobbled together 36t to an 11-32t 10 speed cassette. The hub will take 11s, so i'm just wondering what my groupset options are?

Anyone used a Wolftooth Roadlink or similar?
I could just buy some cheap SRAM 10 speed shifters, a larger rang 10s cassette and pop a slightly larger cassette on, if thats workable?

Have you used it naked?
-
• #362
lol
of course, hence the price

Bargain. But you'll have to Let the Market Decide.

Very tempted by the Rourke, what is the sizing like?

• #367
you can store your bike in my cellar as long as you want Rob .. SE6
-
• #368
Storage in Edinburgh is the boxroom. Or hang the bike on the wall high up (floor-to-ceiling will be around 3m in a tenement).
-
• #369
er
Good point, think its 58cm square but will check
-
• #370
Sadly not moving to a tenement, but we do have a high ceiling.
Long term I want to try and negociate the Elsegood onto the wall there!
You in Edinburgh then?

Tenements are great, but if you're getting a 'proper' house then you're perhaps at an advantage for noise and such.
Yup I'm in Edinburgh, give me a shout when you're here if you want to join some informal gravel rides.
In bike news
Ahead of potentially moving to a city again, I have tweaked the Trainbiek
Put the bars from the Tarn on it, slightly upswept, removed front rack (can be purchased should anyone want it), removed the rear rack, repaired the mudguards and have re run the dynamo cables, but I think the front light is in a box in Mitcham...
