I literally spent about two hours today dealing with someone who is convinced that he's been wronged and he's in the 1%. So frustrating.
I think this saying is quite old as my Dad told me it years ago!

It's particularly difficult for people who are for whatever reason upset with their lot in life to get out of the mindset that everyone is against them and that every slight is deliberately engineered to fuck them over (institutional and systematic fucking of sociopolitical classes / races aside).
My MIL falls very much into this camp. Everything slightly inconvenient is a ploy by someone else to deliberately fuck her over. I got a parking ticket recently, totally correctly. Apparently Lambeth council deliberately changes parking bay boundaries to catch people out and make money.

Good point. I was going by the mantra I learned from somebody on here. If you think you are being wronged, chances are it's 99% cockup, 1% conspiracy. Has stopped me losing my shit on many an occasion.
