  • Class from Kohli there

  • Well, this is lovely

  • Apart from the half-empty ground, yes. Sad that they couldn't see fit to react to lack of sales and at least get bums on seats.

  • Was always going to be the case; if's Afghanistan...

  • It's the more expensive seats that are half full. The cheap seats are almost completely full.

  • Sad that they couldn't reduce the prices at the top-end for matches that (we could all predict) weren't going to sell out - or get locals/kids in on the day with reduced tickets, like they do for the last day of a Test when there are a couple of wickets or a handful of runs to get. It looks rubbish, as well as the lost revenue on retail sales, etc. for the grounds.

I suppose with 20:20 (no pun intended) hindsight, it is an easy observation though.

But don't we always end up saying the same thing for all the 'minnows' matches in any tournament?

  • Bloody hell Morgs

  • This is astonishing hitting...

  • blimey

  • 400 do able now

  • butler comes in after morgan hitting a world record of sixes. great to see.

  • Death, taxes and Joe Root not converting a promising fifty...

    ;)

  • England collapsing now - pathetic...

  • Morgan hit 102 in sixes alone, first person ever to hit a century in sixes in ODIs.

  • I thought it was a mistake not to send Buttler in when Bairstow went, think I might have been a bit wrong...

  • BBC Text:

Has anyone ever declared in an ODI?

  • Morgan declared war

  • Any concerns over the inability of the English bowling attack to dismiss the Afghans quicker?
Neither pace, nor swing/seam, nor spin seems to have posed any real threat to the Afghan batsmen.
Is getting tonked for 5+ an over regarded as 'containing' in modern ODIs?

  • It's hard to gauge...

Were they motivated to actually try given there was no way in hell Afganistan were going to get anywhere close to our total? They may just have been going through the motions and avoiding injury.

  • From what I've seen in the World Cup, any sub 300 score would be considered containing and manageable to chase? I've not watched cricket for a little while and used to watch test matches on channel 4 so it's all pretty quick compared to what I used to watch!

  • It’s a flat track with little for the bowlers, a bit concerned that we dropped some straightforward catches.

  • Has someone dipped the balls in oil or something (euph) ? There have been some absolute howlers throughout the tournament, the sort of thing that would get you dropped from the 3rd XI unless you bought 5 rounds at the bar after...

  • there's been a couple of bangers too

  • 400, against the worst team in the tournament on a flat track, 4th game in a fairly long tournament - why would you kill yourself trying to skittle them for sub 150. Archer and Wood nearly knocked 3 of them out so they weren't holding back and we dropped a couple of dollies. No issues with how we bowled today and I like having Moeen and Rashid bowling together.
