  • If anyone is interested, the Randonee Shorts are excellent.

  • the benefit Mack bag has over Rapha is the offset zip placement .. easily accessible even with an out front garmin/wahoo mount.

  • i've never found it easy to access stuff from - but i am super cack-handed

tbh it's more the fact that when it's half full it doesn't keep its shape, and often ends up sagging which pissed me off the most.

strange, I have never had these issues .. mine is made with quite 'firm' material, dunno what its called

I am keen to try the Rapha bag though, its nice!

  • mine's x-pac rather than cordura, might be why

  • Agree. It's almost worth the fiver just for the rubberised straps.

I got their handle bar bag for fifteen pounds too. Will report back after this weekend how good it is.

  • He helps me decide

  • I have the rapha pack and used it for 100km on the weekend.

It’s quite stiff so no sagging worries. I wish that the straps attached to the back rather than the top so it sat a little higher. Also might look for some foam spacers or something to hold it in place a little firmer as opening the zip wasn’t the easiest - could also do with some bigger zip pulls. Good amount of space, very nice for the money I think.

I would like a wahoo mount that holds it higher up too. I have to angle it back a bit to clear my rack bag I commute with

  • I have a Tuff Luv (urgh) Wahoo mount which allows it to sit a bit higher, also better for charging on the go as it clears the bars. It looks shite compared to the official one though.

  • FWIW one of the RCC members has suggested unlacing the strap from the buckle, turning the buckle over then relacing the strap. It might mean there’s more friction to hold the strap in place. He’s done this based on people’s photos of the issue and having made bags in the past. Low effort thing to try in any case.

  • I have an Ortlieb accessory pouch https://www.ortlieb.com/accessory-pack
was less than £40 is totally waterproof velcros to handlebars and can carry a decent amount of stuff. Have had over a year and still looks new, highly recommended.

  • hard to access while riding though?

  • Oh right thanks, I saw that but there’s sod all pictures of it mounted with the unit, from the side. I will grab one of them

    @Crumbs that’s a good idea

just to add - I like the Outer Shell bar bag - https://www.outershelladventure.com/shop/handlebar-bag and Porcelain rocket Nigel - https://porcelainrocket.com/products/nigel

  • It depends on how securely you fasten the roll top, you could ride with it loosely done up but then wouldn't be so waterproof. So if raining I would say difficult whilst riding but if not could set it up to be.

  • is there a classics guarantee to get the 24 mins back?

  • I liked it!

  • Third and Forth!

    Deary me...

  • I loved that. The fact they were 3 + 4. I don't like a happy ending.

They came across really well if a bit stoned.

I'd love to see them have a go at the 3 peaks.

  • Sorry just seeing this. I'm in Ireland which might make splitting tricky?

  • I thought they were all very camera friendly. Good fun.

But 7 punctures? Get ye to the tubeless thread, Phinney!

  • If you have a klickfix you could easy mount it on it and use while riding. Ofc then it adds weight, but maybe cheaper alternative to other barbags.
There is a picture also when it’s open “mounted” from front webbing, could be open while riding but possibly could drop stuff.
